Need for speed shift - What do you think of it?

Started playing this recently and i think it may be the best racing sim since gran turismo. Sounds from the cars are amazing and although the handling of some the cars is not great it makes up for it in some of the more powerful cars with speed wobbles upon the exit of sharp corners and cars nearly losing the back under the braking. It seems to get better as the game goes on...
Havent sussed out the online gaming mode yet though. If anyone has any ideas it would be great, it shows the times that others have posted but i can't seem to find a way to start an online race....

Otherwise, it is a great game.

if the game is anything like the demo i think its the worst game i'v ever played. the only reason being is they claimed its a sim but yet the car will constantly end up in huge drifts even on the straights . its for kids like every need for speed game.

    right so it looks a,mazing!

    wow

typicaly EA really of any game looks good plays sh!t

rdriving the cars is like driving, just not like a car theres no cllen precise handeling the cars over steer and genrally playing any "sim" with a racing line always for you to follow on the circut says a lot really.

    its tripe.

Have you played with a wheel?
Are you talking about the pc or console version?

The reason i ask is the game is going down a storm among the pc simracing communities.
    BUT
Apparently you need mod called realism mod along with user created wheel profiles to see its full potential.

Checkout this racing sim community`s shift forum to see what they think.

I havent tried it yet myself but i might just get it on the strength of what the sim crowd are saying.

Yes I think the modding potential of this game is really something to look forward to. For my own situation, the game is in dire need of a patch. I can play for 2 to 3 laps with no problems at all before the audio stutters and the framerate drops to single digits (with an Nvidia card, although I believe ATI users have similar problems). It's really frustrating because its quite an enjoyable game with a G25 and the mods installed.

Many thanks for the links :) I've already tried numerous fixes (including the patch to version 1.1) but it would appear the stuttering fix is coming in the next patch so I live in hope for that. I see someone has even managed to fix the animation for the steering:

    Cool or what!
