Do banks sell houses????

    this may be the wrong place to post so sorry in advance if it is!
    what i am wondering is if anyone has heard of banks offering residential properties for sale? we want to get onto the property ladder but obviously cant afford anything too dear.

    There were houses in cavan that were sold by a bank iirc. It was on RTE about two months ago selling 3 bed homes half price, reduced from 200k to 100k.
    I would say it would have to go through an estate agent though.

    <edit>Link Yeah they went in receivership. If they are still available, dont know but dobut it.

    I know a person who bought one of them. AFAIK, they're all gone. Still being completed, but mainly the "builders finish" as I understand.
