any ideas for the best soundtracks?

    my votes go for:
    High Fidelity (really excellent),
    Gladiator (Hans Zimmer Score),
    Stigmata (strange but surprisingly good)
    and somewhat older selections...
    Superfly - Curtis Mayfield and
Obscured By Clouds - Pink Floyd.

I thought the soundtrack to "The Crow" was quite good. very dark,in keeping with the films theme and some tracks were just sh1te metal bands, but overall it was excellent, included the superb "big empty" by Stone Temple Pilots.

for me, in terms of how the soundtrack fits in, aids and then illicits memories of the movie, air's virgin suicides ****es on every other soundtrack i have ever heard.

reservoir dogs always has a place in my heart, if only for that great uga-chaka song.

the thin red line is a great soundtrack. i have it on the dvd.
    i love that movie.

but magnolia is my favourite i think. aimee mann is just out of this world good.
    in fact, she is excelsior

Mhmm, I picked up the Blade Runner soundtrack the other day, and found it disappointingly iffy; last few tracks are tops, but some of the stuff just isn't all that good, imo. Shame.

In terms of really top stuff...

*/ Gladiator - Hans Zimmer ROCKS.

*/ The Matrix - Commercial as hell, but a damn good album.

*/ Magnolia - I'd never heard Aimee Mann before, can't get enough of her now.

*/ Event Horizon - Michael Kamen and Orbital. Not usually my kinda thing, but this just WORKED.

*/ I'm sorry, but... Titanic. Never mind the Celine Dion b0llocks, the rest of the (James Horner) soundtrack is so evocative it hurts.

Then of course there's Star Wars... so over-used now that it's hard to appreciate just how good it really is.

In terms of obscure flicks, Joe Hisahi's sountrack to Laputa: Castle In The Sky is also a personal all-time movie sountrack fave.
