Since these are casuals, there shouldn't be any restrictions on what character selection right? Because I'm not sure if I fancy my chances with mr. red eyes

Pick who you want.

If we have a mini tourney then usual rules will apply. You can only change character after a loss in a best 2/3 set.

You can pick any character you want for each match though.

There's more than 20 confirms, so even factoring in last minute drop outs for whatever reason, thats still a big group!

Can anyone who's coming bring a copy of the game for PS3 / Xbox, and if anyones got Xbox save games with character unlocks on memory cards, these are very welcome too.

(I'll be bringing a copy of SFIV, Anniversary collection, memory card with all unlocked to Seth, and MVC2 - all on Xbox)

I have MvC2, Hd Remix and anniversary edition (which has hyper SF and 3rd strike)

If everyone brought €10 for deposit that would be good too.
(each machine is a €20 deposit right?)

As for paying the fiver in, rather than waiting till the end, how about first thing as you enter, sign in on a sheet and pay the money to one person.

with people leaving and coming late etc....

If you're bringing your own HD then make sure to rent out Xbox15, its the only one you can use your HD with. Just pull the Xbox out the back of the bracket as far as you can and there should be enough room to put in the HD.

I'll be heading to the Ireland match (in yore face Monkeyto :pac:) so might have to leave early etc wont be bringing my copy or HD this time so hopefully we get enough otherwise.

Not really, to unlock everyone bar Seth you only have to play through the arcade mode 8 times.

After this to unlock just Seth you need to play through the game a further 16 times. For most it's a waste of time as he's a character nobody ever really plays with anyway.

Thank you chopper, I'm glad someone said it! Note that in third strike I never play chun, yun, ken, makoto, or yang! So I'm not a tier whore, its just pure coincidence that I like sagat and he happens to be slightly strong :P

Never mind 7-3, 3S Chun has (according to these lists) more 8-2s than SF4 Sagat has 7-3s.

For most it's a waste of time as he's a character nobody ever really plays with anyway.

He's the best of the console characters by a considerable margin - that said, I hardly ever see him online.

Go to the spire on O'Connell st. go to the right side of the street (where Eason, MacDonalds etc are) and walk up toward O'Connell bridge but turn right instead of crossing at the lights at the bridge. Walk down the quays until you get to the ha'penny bridge and turn right onto Lower Liffey st. The XGC is beside a pub called Pravda and pretty much across the road from a Spar shop.

Defo goin. I might be a bit worse for wear as the party I'm going to has now become a bring the weirdest/nastiest drink you can find. Speaking of which does any have any recommdations?

Also none of us are pros but there is a really good mix of skill levels.

I actually enjoy fighting Sagat lol Prob cause I understand the match up I guess, no "WTF how come he can punish me but I can't punish him!?!?" or "I was 2 meters away how the **** did he grab me!?!?" moments :pac:

Same here, I guess because it feels excellent beating a Sagat player, and even if you lose, well it was Sagat, the odds where stacked against you and because you didn't pick Sagat you won the moral victory, so it's win win.
