vodafone nokia e61i switched to 3 network?

I have an e61i, my contract is terminated and bill has been settled. I'd like to use it on the 3 network. Will vodafone unlock it for me for free and can it be used with a 3 sim? If its unlocked by vodafone can I use it in the USA with an american sim?

Yes, VF should provide you with the unlock (NAC) code, or you can get it yourself on the MyVoafone site if your account is still active.
It can be used fine with a 3 SIM and yes, it will work in the US (if unlocked) because it's quad band.
