Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fair play to the City fans for applauding him.

Wonder does John O'Shea have him in his FF team? :pac:

City should have played Ireland for all the defensive cover that De Jong has given.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Dunne always knew where the back of the City net was ;)

didnt i say city cant defend crosses...

Whatever about Lescott, Toure was always overrated imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

City passing has been dogshít so far. Bridge been about their best player so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Why isn't Adebayor trying to win the long balls?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

If Ade didn't deflect that Tevez shot, it was going in.

What did wenger pay for him? 500k?, cant see how he was overrated at that price. Great business from wenger imo.

Warnock Assist, please keep clean sheet!

Tevez has been limited to long range strikes.

Just cause he was cheap doesnt mean he aint overrated. Toure is a mistake prone defender and despite his pace has no real strengths. 500k or 15m

Not the brightest it would seem there or was I seeing things? Zabaletta hacked down Young and Toure put his arm in the air claiming a kick out?

City not having any joy from out wide. Can't be long before Ireland is introduced.

Wayne Bridge has been our only bright spark so far. He's been excellent.

Adebayor done nothing all game but nearly scored with that.

Overrated is so vague. Who was overrating him?, for a player who cost 500k he performed above and beyond what anybody expected when he joined arsenal and did so for a long time. Wenger and hughes would disagree with your opinion that he has 'no real strengths'.

Good game tonight, i feel a few brutal challenges coming up.

Ye, can't understand why he's not playing.
Seems like Hughes either doesn't know his best team cause of the amount of players he has or feels like he has to play all the 'big names' cause of the money spent, whether it puts the formation to the crapper or not.
Like what happens when Robinho comes back? He gonna play Bellamy, Tevez, Adebayor and Robinho? And then what of Santa Cruz?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Tevez you wally. Great tackle from Dunne though.

    Mark Hughes.

The team actually looks balanced to me.

The main problem City have had is the final ball. Tevez has stank. Adebayor hasn't done enough work to try and bring the midfield into the game. SWP has been in and out, but hasn't been helped by having that useless leper Zabaleta to assist him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,727 ✭✭✭✭Sherifu

    useless leper

    ROFL :D

He's not playing because he missed the last game and the midfield that played was superb against West Ham.

Simple as that, nothing to do with 'big names' or whatever else.

wasnt too happy when i saw that we were lining up in a 442 not the 451/433 but i have to say it seems to be working a treat atm although Carew hasnt really gotten into the game much. The back four have been very good though and limited City to mostly attempts from far out by Tevez, while keeping Ade fairly quiet.

This wont be a relaxing second half thats for sure

    Mark Hughes.

City pay over the odds for a player shocker. Hughes wanted him. The price is irrelevant largely to the city owner/s. He sold his barclays shares in may for a profit of 1.3 billion, he must be having nightmares about the money hes wasted on toure.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Ireland has to make an appearance if this keeps up.

Jesus christ read my replies next time or i wont be replying next time.

Nothing to do with money. Fact is Mark Hughes thinks he's good enough to help City break into the top four. I dont think he is, and many agree with me, meaning he is overrated.

City looking tippy tappy. Villa passing well, still giving the ball away a wee bit too much, Dunne immense up front and in defense!

if what keeps up. villa are really well organised and ireland hasnt been great so far this season. id leave it as is for the moment, just a bit more urgency is needed. bellamys doing well, he and bridge are linking up nicely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

City are trying to beat Villa through width when they've got no one to stretch Villa's full backs. Every time Tevez has got the ball he's either gone for goal or lost it. He can't do the Ireland role.

I have him on my bench in my FF team so put your money on him scoring one and making two. :)

He's very mistake-prone, not strong in the air and was in no way key for arsenal bar maybe his first few seasons. He is overrated.
