Traffic due to Census (Again)

Still makes me laugh when I think back to living in Germany and seeing how quickly they manage to build huge stretches of roads, tunnels, and bridges over distances of hundreds and hundreds of km. And back here we take years and years to build stretches that may be less than 50km and normally cannot finish a job without being miles over the set budget.

And notice how in other countries when they build a road... its smooth....your car is quiet while driving along it, over here....brand new road...and for the life of em they cant even get it level never mind smooth!

After arriving back in Ireland, from driving around Europe last year, I actually got out of the van to check the tyres because I thought there was something wrong with them.

Can't think why the 30 seconds of questions is the point ..... it's the hour it took me to get from Setrights to the Clarion Suites that $$$$ me off .... how anyone can decide to double one of the largest man invented gridlocks on the west coast of Ireland simply by creating a Census point right in the middle of this chaos is beyond me ........

As for census accuracy I watched so many cars going off into the old Cratloe road just west of Sheils that my guess is that the results are highly likely to be irrelevant ...... :rolleyes:

Why not put a balloon permanently over Limerick and infrared film traffic flows twenty four hours a day ....... computerize the resultant flows and see where every one is coming from and going too .....

Because that would be a good idea, and this is Ireland, where were we do everything half arsed
