I was watching a few episodes of this yesterday and some inspectors were going around checking cars at a festival or some such event on a hot day. They checked the temperature of a van with some dogs in it and it was over 97 degrees. They contacted the police who were able to get into the van and let the dogs out. The owners had only been away for about 45 minutes, but the dogs were pretty distressed.

Later on some people left their dog in their car for 5 hours. Someone spotted the dog there at 10:30am, at some point they left left a note on the car calling the owners idiots and said they were going to call the police. After 3pm the RSPCA smashed the car window, but it was too late. :( The RSPCA recorded the scene, photos, etc.

On Animal Planet, you see some crazy stuffs that people do to animals. It is sickening and hear breaking..
I wish the Irish government have a strict law like in some of the states in the US (prison time, felony charge, community service, and big fines).
In France, they really start to be stricter with animal cruelty...
