    setup:

speedtouch ethernet modem connected to phone line.
ethernet cable connecting speedtouch and eircom netopia wireless router.
    wireless signal broadcasted by netopia.
    working fine.

the people next door in the apartment want to share the internet.

we have a netgear wpn834v2 wireless router.

can we use it as a bridge for the wireless?

or is there a better setup we can use?
    any advice is greatly appreciated!

    thanks!

Are you sure that giving wireless access to your neighbors is safe?

they are good friends of mine. were in student accomodation and the internet provided by the college sucks. were all paying the bill for this.

were limiting access by mac address only, setting designated lan ip's, and im setting a pretty decent filter/content control so nothing sinister can be done by anyone using it.

Im presuming you have some form of encryption on the wireless network?

Just picked up one of these in PC World in Airside for 63 euro( last one)

The wireless range extender did not work so I have connected it to a cat 5 outlet I had in the far end of house: works very well: full 5 lines on the signal strength identifier on the mac. It also will allow me bring it out in garden in summer.

It has one RJ45 socket and no on/off switch so u need to turn it off at socket

    Hope this helps

    its like this one

Well you could wire the two of them up If there at a window, using an ethernet cable but thats messy I think, plus Cat 6 isnt supposed to be outside (or 5).

The wireless option is the best, but why would you want to connect them? What improvement will you get?
