I dunno I hadn't really thought far ahead TBH, I was thinking of just saying I been a spurs fan for 13 years and have never enjoyed watching the team as much as I do now and just say how I rate them as a player which is not going to a lie in the former anyway.

A copy of mine sent to Woody.

    Dear Jonathon,

I am typing this as I thought I would do you the favour of not having to endure my brutal handwriting. I have been a spurs fan for 21 years, my granddad was and my brother in law is which is a rare thing in Dublin. My nephew is three and is just mastering his slide tackle at the moment. You are by far away his favourite player. He seen my reaction when you scored in the league Cup final which was the day after I got married. I was never so drunk in my life Id like to wish you all the best in your comeback from injury.
I would greatly appreciate if you could send something like an autograph or whatever you deem appropriate for
as I know it will mean a lot and it might prevent him supporting Man U or Liverpool like his bonehead Uncles. It is my own save
    campaign.
Thanks for taking the time to read and I have enclosed a self addressed stamped envelope.
    COYS!!

wont be able to post a letter from england using an irish stamp.

good letter though. hope you get something nice from him

Good point on the english stamp. I never thought of that. Will keep you's posted. Bloody raging he got injured yesterday. That clearance was class as well. Going to hold off on sending to my other two picks just for a week or two as I dont want the players getting suss.

    Antisocialiser: Dos Santos, Pav, Bale

Just checked this again there sorry dudes!! Hmm would the best bet be to send them one at a time leavin a few days between em? Best luck is probably gonna be bale as i doubt the other two's english is up to scratch.... what do u write to him? your my favorite player i cant get over that one whole game you played in which we got 3points :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 639 ✭✭✭Seillejet

Antisocialiser I dont want to be negative. Use your imagination to what you put in. If your a spurs supporter and the games these players play in matter to you I am sure there is something you can come up with. If it was a different club tbh I would find it difficult.

Being a spurs fan defines me and it matters. I was at a party last night and a lad I hadnt seen in ten months walks in looks at me and shakes his head. I respond and say " I Know, poxy Stoke".

This is actually a very good point. I think we should all space out our letters. Sure this thread isn't going anywhere! Anti-socialiser the example letter thrown up is a very good guide and i guess just say you respect him as a player etc.

Im the same. My wife was home sick from work this week. I rang and everyday I was asking was there post. She said why dont you ring the institute and see if your worried about your exam results.

When I said I was waiting for a response from a spurs player the sigh I heard on the other end of the line could hold the world record for the longest sigh in the world sighing championships.

Your a lucky lady I quipped before hanging up :D

May be a bit off topic, but the story of the Tallaght lads in the dressing room getting nothing out of Robbie reminded me of some drunken antics recently...

Met Paul Robinson in Dublin city centre last week, when the internationals were on. Had a great laugh with him, even sang "Spurs are on their way to Wembley" with me. Told me how being in the carling cup semi-final team to beat Arsenal was one of the best experiences of his life, just for the atmosphere alone.

He never bad mouthed the club in fairness Robbo and you could plainly see he loved playing at the Lane with fans chanting Englands No 1. I was watching the United game yesterday and I felt sorry for him as he had no chance with both goals and made some fantastic saves.

Harry bring another Yid back :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 317 ✭✭ohnoigotsick

theres a video of him on you tube leading the away fans at a uefa to a song while he was warming before the game.

good skin at spurs - but his time was up when he left

Things seem to have gone rather quiet on this thread. Has anyone heard anything back from WHL?
I'm still waiting....though not as hopeful now as I was a few weeks ago!:(

TBH, I thought Dawson would've been one of the first to reply! Comes across as a real nice bloke.

Nothing on my end but I didn't expect any of the lads I wrote too to bother.

I'd be fairly dissapointed if we didn't get something from a couple of them. I mean jesus they can't get that much fanmail. would the more popular lads even get 10 or 20 a week?

  • Registered Users Posts: 639 ✭✭✭Seillejet

I wrote to Woody, my letter is a couple of posts back.

As yet nothing which is disappointing. I was also quiet hopeful for a letter during the international break. Wouldnt be surprised if we dont all just get a generic xmas card.

Was waiting at reception at Spurs Lodge back in 2005 when Stephen Kelly came in to pay for tickets (didn't know until then that they had to pay), and he was handed some letters that were there for him. So I'd say the letters were delivered all right.
