Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    That's harsh on Nani.

A bit harsh, he's one of those players thats hard to like. I remember the time he was sent off against arsenal years ago and blowing kisses to the crowd.... :)

    Pretty funny!

    Sh!t defending though. :pac:

    Really running the show.

    That's harsh on Nani.

the annoying thing is that they'd both be unreal players if they just made better decisions. They can both skin players with little or no effort, they both have cracking shots and good crosses, they just play like boneheads when they are in good positions.

Wow we're not going to have Rowlands playing against Montenegro are we?

    Or Liam Miller?????

O'Shea into midfield and Kelly right full?

Lawrence want to shag Kevin Doyle's missus or something?

    What's with the hairdo?

Is it just me or does Doyle not do nearly enough at this level (on a consistant basis)

O'Shea into midfield is a good shout. Didn't think of that.

Yeah but does he want to be labelled as a player with an "amazing workrate"

eg: Emile Heskey, Zinedane K, Robbie Keane, Dirk Kuyt, Niall Quinn, Croutch.

He's the Irish David Beckham, right winger, blonde highlights, designer facial hair, number 7, fancy boots, free kick taker etc...!

McGeady's handy but his final ball is always crap.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Started so well, it clear enough that Italy can easily strike again if they get the chance. Ireland must get the ball wide quickly.

I think it's you, Doyle always gives 110% when he play's for Ireland, it's not his fault he's constantly starved of any decent service.

I plead fair assumption since it was 7 when he played against South Africa :D

Sick of the long balls over the top. Not getting any joy out of them. Lawrence andd McGeady are doing well down the wings, if you keep giving them the ball, we're gonna get a decent cross out of em eventually.

In central midfield we concede possesion and space pretty much all the time, every game the same thing

Right but what Im saying is if we're going to avoid giving it the central midfielders, may as well give it to the wingers and let them have a go rather than hopeless long balls over the top.

See, I agree and think it explains why Doyle is so starved.

He is forced to challenge 3 players for a long ball, or come really deep and take it wide to win a set-piece.

No his fault - I think he does amazing work given our setup.

Should have kept doing what we did from the whistle, we were getting great luck up the right side but Lawrence looks run off his feet at this stage, McGeady didnt look too happy when half time was blown, threw his arms up a bit, he is desperate for the ball. Too bad his crossing is rubbish.

This "system" of Traps is crying out for a taller striker in the vain of Cillian Sheridan

Unlucky. A bit more power on the header for a shot, or a bit more direction for a pass and that could have been a goal.
