    Hi,

Just wanted to ask somebody that has been to Berlin which is the cheapest and best means of transferring from Schonefield to the City Centre.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if this is a bargain alert but..

You can take the S-Bahn (over-ground train) from the airport (about 3 minute walk from the entrance to the airport) to the city centre (city centre being Alexandreplatz or Friedrichstrasse) for €2.60. A taxi from the airport would be €30 - €40 depending on traffic.

    Hope that helps.

The train is def the way to go! And it joins in with the orbital ring line which will take you anywhere in the city. Handy if your hostle is bit outa the city centre like mine was!

As previous posters have said, take the S-Bahn. You will need the platform on the right as you enter the station - direction Charlottenburg.

Station is a short walk from arrivals via a covered walkway.

Look at getting a Berlin Welcome Card, which will give you unlimited public transport for 2, 3 or 5 days. These can be purchased at the Tourist Information Desk to the right as you enter the airport arrivals concourse.

You validate your ticket in the machines on the train platform.
