my 7mth old pomeranian/terrier cross has just gone into heat for 1st time and seems to be constantly urinating, she has even had a few accidents in the house. Does anyone know if this is normal ?

Yes, it's normal and a symptom of the bitch being in heat. You may also notice that she's not only peeing more often but in much larger quantities too. Just make sure she has access to loads of fresh water so she doesn't get dehydrated.

At 7 months old, she's probably still not 100% on bladder control and, this being her firt heat, she's not used to minding herself during this time so accidents are very likely. When you see her about to go, pick her up and pop her outside. Stay near her until she's finished and give her loads of praise. Just reiterate everything she learned while you were toilet-training her in the first place and it should sink in with her soon.
