LOL! I'll only believe that if Ken Ring was the one who said it.

It is usually later in Jan or Feb that we get snow for a day and the country shuts down.

October wouldn't be unusual either - there was snow last year at the end of October even at relatively low levels (i.e. Enniskerry).

Hey folks:D well it's that time of year again as we aproach winter, im so looking forward to our first cold spell, obviously Dec, Jan, Feb are the best months for snow but doesn't mean we have to wait that long, dont forget november 2006 we had some heavy snow showers one night which gave a nice covering, and I also remember having snow as early as October back in 2002 and also October last year there was some snow around halloween.

I think the first snow of the winter will be December 2nd

Ah - the 'S' word. We had snow here in October in 2003 and also last year. In 2003 it was on 21st, last year it was around the 29th. Hopefully we'll get some here in Nov/Dec!!
