A kid gets assaulted by a copper for not having his shirt tucked in, seems that US cops are really ****ed up. There are huge numbers of clips like this showing police brutality. Add stuff like patriot act and war against terrorism.

What can you say, the US is no longer the land of the free, it is a fascist police state.

The merger of state and corporate powers is by Mussolini's own definition fascism. That is what is happening. Ask Gerald Celente.

    Thats awful.

But fascist police state: that old chestnut?
The merger of state and corporate powers is by Mussolini's own definition fascism.
What does that at all have to do with an imbalanced school deputy?

That individual certainly appears to have been out of line.

I agree with Overheal, though, the US law enforcement agencies obviously aren't very good fascists. I've not had any encounters more unpleasant than a couple of ticking-offs for speeding. (No ticket). They must be doing something wrong, I'm not living in cowering fear of them...

'brutal cops' are not new. Not remotely. Nor is this incident connected to anything that could justify the use of 'fascist police state'.

Police brutality certainly isn't new, but the gradual increase of state-sanctioned oppression is arguably an indication of where the USA is headed.

Out of interest, what would you say would justify the use of the term 'fascist police state'?

I don't see how this incident can be considered 'State-sponsored oppression', it looks if anything to be a case of battery by an individual who happens to be an employee of the State. (Or at least a subdivision thereof)

further to that point, He's on the County payroll, which is on the payroll of the state before the payroll of the Federal Govt.

    It makes Illinois fascist, maayyybe...

    Cha-Ching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My point was for the US to be fascist the federal government would have to be in direct control of state and county police: they are far from it. And you would be hard pressed convincing me the CIA/FBI/SS made him do it.

Its a gobshite acting the hardman in a special needs school. Now if there was a squad put there by the (local or federal )state whose job it was to beat the crap out of people whose shirts weren't tucked in, that would be state sanctioned oppression.

Systematic organised repression across 52 states by the central government, with far harsher regulation of all media.

Don't worry. Even Obama made that mistake.

In his Defence im sure he got confused since Hawaii is an island chain. :pac:

Disturbing, but I don't know if it is part of a broader problem. I would certainly say that Chicago police have a lousy reputation in terms of corruption and covering up brutality. As for any trends, I would say the rise in paramilitary police units and tactics is not something I am completely comfortable with.

Shot an email to the CHP recruiting dept today. It's my last year of eligibility to become a jackbooted thug in the service of the State. (And it seems to pay better than the FBI, surprisingly)

Not sure I'm going to enjoy the Academy, mind.

I sadly said goodbye to Barely Legal about five years ago, and to Diplomatic Incident two years back.

However, I will still retain the keys to the Paddywagon for a while yet.

Who's to say I can't do both jobs?
