Just wondering if anyone can give me some help here.

I am partly organising a tournament for 80 people. I am hoping the tournament to be finished up within 4/5 hours. How will I structure the values of chips, blinds levels and Breaks etc..?

    My thinking was:
With people starting off with 2000 worth of chips

    1. [+0:00] -- 25 / 50
    2. [+0:15] -- 50 / 100
    3. [+0:30] -- 75 / 150
    4. [+0:45] -- 100 / 200
    5. [+1:00] -- 125 / 250
    6. [+1:15] -- 150 / 300
    7. [+1:30] -- 175 / 350
    8. [+1:45] -- 200 / 400
    9. [+2:00] -- 300 / 600
    10. [+2:15] -- 400 / 800
    11. [+2:30] -- 500 / 1000
    12. [+2:45] -- 700 / 1400
    13. [+3:00] -- 1000 / 2000
    14. [+3:15] -- 1500 / 3000
    15. [+3:30] -- 2000 / 4000
    16. [+3:45] -- 3000 / 6000
    17. [+4:00] -- 4000 / 8000
    18. [+4:15] -- 5000 / 10000
    19. [+4:30] -- 6000 / 12000
    20. [+4:45] -- 7000 / 14000
    21. [+5:00] -- 10000 / 20000
    22. [+5:15] -- 15000 / 30000

    Is it a freezeout?

We were thinking of re-buys for the first 30 minutes. Or is that a bad idea?

Think you should give a starting stack of way more than 2000. The way you have it, it'll be a shovefest after 45 mins. And with only 160k chips in play the last 6 or 7 levels will never happen imo.

Kinda, unless its a fundraiser, is it? Whats the buyin, is it just a normal game?

Nope its a social game, nothing too intense. €10 buy-in. Texas Holdem

    5k stack, should last around around 5 - 5 1/2 hours

    1. [+0:00] -- 25 / 50
    2. [+0:20] -- 50 / 100
    3. [+0:40] -- 75 / 150
    4. [+1:00] -- 100 / 200
    5. [+1:20] -- 150 / 300
    6. [+1:40] -- 200 / 400
    7. [+2:00] -- 300 / 600
    8. [+2:20] -- 400 / 800
    9. [+2:40] -- 500 / 1000
    10. [+3:00] -- 800 / 1500
    11. [+3:20] -- 1000 / 2000
    12. [+3:40] -- 1500 / 3000
    13. [+4:00] -- 2000 / 4000
    14. [+4:20] -- 3000 / 6000
    15. [+4:40] -- 4000 / 8000
    16. [+5:00] -- 5000 / 10000
    17. [+5:20] -- 8000 / 15000
    18. [+5:40] -- 10000 / 20000
    19. [+6:00] -- 15000 / 30000

This might work for a freezeout.

Give 5K in chips and do 15 or 20 minute levels of the following. Do a break every 4 levels for 10 minutes.

    You will need 4 colours of chips. 4 x 25, 4 x 100, 5 x 500 and 2 x 1K

Having a fifth colour to chip up worth 5K would be handy.

    50/100
    75/150
    100/200
    200/400
    300/600
    400/800
    600/1200
    800/1600
    1k/2k
    2k/4k
    3k/6k
    4k/8k
    5k/10k

    Is what i would do

if there are a spare couple of seats at a table and a full table beside it tell the next big blind to move.

My Opinion is find someone who knows what they are doing to help you....It's not even close to as easy as it looks to run a tournament if you have no experience in doing so!!!
I know it's just a social event and a small buy-in but for the trouble it's worth in trying yourself pay someone else to do it and try and learn from them
