    Ah, I like the 9th. Doesn't take away from the splendour of the others though. I'm listening to no. 7 now. Another magnificent one.

    I have several versions of it and of course it is staggering, I think probably the Dresden Philharmonic Herbert Kegel version would be a favourite, there was of course a very famous Furtwangler performance of this in Berlin late during the war that is fascinating to watch the footage of. Also his 2nd & 7th would be constant favourites of mine.
