Heavy Metal/Hard Rock bands that you really hate!

I don't understand Mastadon or U2 or Zepp... I know there's good music in there I just don't get it at all... They've always left me cold and I don't get people liking them... Bit random eh?

Then again I like some guilty pleasures (Seether, the shame of it) etc...

Even funnier, is the fact none of them are even "Hard Rock" bands either...

The only one with anything remotely hard would be Muse, and thats like 2-3 songs at most.

My personal irritations would include:

Avenged Sevenfold (a travesty they played directly before Metallica this year)
Dragonforce (w**kers):pac:
Nirvana (overrated)
Trivium (have hated these since they broke through at ozzfest years ago)
GnR (affectionately now known as Axel and friends:p)

Wow a lot of those bands have been a huge influence on my life. In fact, Pantera, Soulfly, Manowar and Avenged Sevenfold are the only bands on that list that I'm not particulary big on.

Ive highlighted the bands that I like on your list, in addition, most of the bands youve listed are time honored classics and metal legends

sheesh the posters here should have to pass a music knowledge/taste test before being allowed to post here!!

The following bands I do not like because of the music. To add another layer of annoyance, the fans of them make it seem like if you do not like the bands then you aren't a true fan of music or metal.

Led Zeppelin (They ain't that bad, but I've never gotten the hype)
Deicide
Ozzy Osbourne
Rage Against the Machine
Nine Inch Nails

And of course the obligatory Kerrang crowd but I decided to not make this thread sound like a broken record of mainstream music hating. :cool:

I hate hate HATE Kiss, Aerosmith, RATM. Guns n Roses are atrocious(IMO!).

I never really got into Cannibal Corpse. I tried, but it just was.... "samey"! No element to their music stood out to me and made me think -Not bad!!! I used to be a huuuuge Slipknowt fan, but after the last album, just.... no. No.

There are loads of bands I really dislike. At the moment the top of the list is the Kings of Leon which are beyond are horrific. I dont like screamo/emo bands like MCR, Bullet for my Valentine and Avenged Sevenfold. I also dont like pop punk bands like Green Day, Good Charlotte etc. Other bands that I find to be awful are Paramore, Billy Talent, Sunno))), Visions of Atlantis, Edenbridge and Octavia Sperati.

Yeah, while I quite like Sunn O))), I can see why they wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. It needs to be listened to differently than most music.

I presume you mean Bring Me The Horizon the deathcore band, and not Beyond the Horizon the up-and-coming macedonian Melodic Death Metal band. :rolleyes:

I've heard alot of Deathcore, and Bring Me The Horizon are without a doubt the worst i've heard. They just got pushed by Kerrang! because of Oli Sykes hair and now they're the only deathcore band that any of these people listen to or have heard. It's annoying that the biggest band in a relatively unknown genre are tagged as screamo. Suicide Silence are pretty crappy too!

Their is probably thousands of other metal bands that I don't like as well. I also hate most of the bands featured in the likes of Metal Hammer except for Immortal, Paradise Lost, Emperor, Maiden etc.
