Build looks good,if your budget can stretch to it a go with a single 5870 instead of that 285.

    http://www.dabs.ie/products/xfx-r5870-hd-1gb-hdmi-pci-e-2-0-65TY.html?q=5870 - XFX 5870

    Also,do you need a full tower ?

You can get a big mid tower like my HAF 922 that will have no problem fitting the latest and greatest hardware. You can save yourself 60 quid too ;)

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=461645 - HAF 922

    Hi Deano,

Thanks for the reply. Don't need a full tower no, just as long as everything fits/is compatible! I only got the 285 recently so I'm going to stick with it.
    Cheers again.

You might be better off ordering all that from komplett too, and then picking it up from their PuP, that way you have no delivery fee/gharge to pay at all. probably saving you another 100quid easy.

those 1200's are good cases but as noisy as a wind tunnel from what i hear.

An alternative is the HAF922 (very roomy inside, good airflow, good cable management and pretty quiet for such an open case). Pretty much has the same features for a lesser price.

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=461645

(actually here's a decent comparison of the Antec 1200, CM HAF and CM Storm Sniper: http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=100675297&mpage=1&key=)

and you could then get the Modular version of the Corsair 750, the HX750 (bout €50 more), for about the same total price; €221).

alas, unfortunately neither of the above are in stock at komplett at the mo, so you'd be looking at at least a 2 week wait if you ordered off em.

yeah, the HAFs are great cases for the money. I have the 932 and it's an absolute beast of a case. I'll just warn you, there were a few imperfections in it when it arrived (specifically a couple of edges of the sheet metal weren't beaten down properly) but nothing to detract from its functionality.

Looking back, I probably should have waited for a 922, the 932 is just a wee bit big for my liking, and Coolermaster's promised aftermarket dust filters for it seem to have been forgotten. But on the upside it has 4 USB ports on the front panel which I make use of a fair bit.

But if you ever plan on travelling to LANS or that with a HAF, dont bother with it. They are heavy enough, and what's worse, it can be quite hard to get a decent grip on them they are so big at the base. But that's about the only reason i can think of not to buy one.

yup. It has 2 layers of metal and a layer of insulating foam slushed between them. At least twice as much metal as on your usual case. i'd say.

That explains why it's so expensive :o
