Crows at dusk

I live about 1/4 mile from a wooded area (large beech trees) and for the past couple of days I've been very conscious of the crows being really loud as they gather at dusk. They seem louder than ever before and I've lived in this area for over 20 years. Could clearly hear them through the double glazing yesterday. This evening a huge flock of hundreds or possibly thousands of crows were flying around in circles before heading to the trees. An impressive sight and sound!

    Anyone want to discuss this?

Similiar happening around here aswel, circling around them flying away down the fields and back soon. The whole time crowing. Whatever they're at i dont know

Sounds like a new winter roost forming. It happens every now and again as existing roosts get over crowed. It will get bigger and noiser with time.

Winter Roost. Just what it says. In Winter Rooks and Jackdaws gather togeher in large roosts at night for security and warmth. These roosts number many thousands (even 10s of thousands) of birds in some cases. They disperse considerably during the breeding season.
