Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Longshanks100 with the fantastic shot of the tennis ball in motion - 57 votes which is probably a record for an assignment - and well deserved too. That shot could grace the pages of any sports magazine.

    Thanks to everybody who voted! These challenges seem to be getting more popular recently so hopefully that will keep up. I'll try and set the next one later this evening or else tomorrow.

    On the shot itself, I attached an elastic band to a safety pin and suspended the tennis ball from a height in the garage one saturday afternoon. I had just bought a used 430EX flash and was playing with some settings. I set it so that the exposure was too fast for daylight to come out but that it would freeze the tennis ball. I wound tennis ball up, dipped it in a bowl of water, let it go and triggered the flash. In the PP i cloned out the elastic band and sharpened the image.
