    Hi there,
Been foraging locally, found a good few nice mature Horsechestnut trees in the fields, brought home some great conkers. Want to plant in pots, and hopefully get some seedlings going to plant out in the garden eventually. One question, do you place the conker 'scar' (as in creamy white patch on the conker) face up, or face down in the soil. Googled it and got conflicting answers.
Any other information greatly appreciated! Thanks

I wondered the same thing, we planted them on their side and they grew fine..

I just tossed 3 of them in a pot and all three came up. Don't think it really matters.
