    Hi,
I'm not sure where to post this but I wondering what you can do to protect yourself if a supplier you've paid goes under before you get your goods?? Can you get insurance to cover this or is the best bet to buy on visa?
    Thanks a million

To thebest of my knowledge if you pay by Visa & you don't get the goods the credit card Company will refund

Despite all the advise the best protection is COD.

Yes, in current climate, COD is the only way.
Granted some suplier will require deposit to provide one off stuff like kitchen etc. Work them down to the minimum that they will accept and dont give anyone a sum of money that is likely to get the project into trouble should they fold.

I know I'm only in early stages of my build but I haven't met a supplier who doesn't offer at least 30 days of credit for supplies. Later in the build when it come to decorating and 2nd Fixing that might change but personally I'll be demanding COD at the very least.
