Thedailyedge.ie did a write up of all last years show from the 3Arena.

The lowest grossing event was WWEs November show with €33634.

Not sure about the cost of staging such a show but that seems soooo low.

Maybe low from 3s point of view but I could nearly guarantee WWE made up to half of that money on top in merchandise sales.

The lowest earning event at the 3Arena last year was November’s World Wrestling Entertainment show – which brought in just €33,634.

    The press release

    STAMFORD, CT – JANUARY 26, 2015 –

WWE announced today that pop-culture icon Arnold Schwarzenegger will be inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame at a ceremony to be held on Saturday, March 28 at SAP Center in San Jose, CA as part of WrestleMania® Week.

Former Governor of California from 2003-2011 and the star of such blockbuster films as Predator, True Lies, Kindergarten Cop and the wildly successful Terminator franchise, Schwarzenegger is a longtime WWE fan dating back to the 1970s, appearing at many Monday Night Raw® and SmackDown® events through the years.

A seven-time Mr. Olympia winner, he is the founder of the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival, the world’s largest annual sports weekend, which hosts 200,000 attendees and more than 18,000 of the world’s top athletes.

He also appeared at the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony at Madison Square Garden, inducting his friend Bruno Sammartino. Most recently, Schwarzenegger guest starred on the March 24, 2014 episode of Monday Night Raw opposite WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan® and WWE Superstar The Miz®. Schwarzenegger’s decades-long health and fitness crusade is a perfect fit with WWE.

“We are honored to induct Arnold Schwarzenegger into the WWE Hall of Fame,” said WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative, Paul “Triple H” Levesque. “His larger-than-life on- and off-screen presence translated perfectly into the world of WWE, resulting in many memorable moments.”

The Bubba interview on wwe.com is great
    http://www.wwe.com/shows/royalrumble/2015/bubba-ray-dudley-interview
BUBBA RAY: WWE called me about a month ago and said, “Would you like an opportunity in the Royal Rumble?” And I said, “Absolutely.” I showed up here today and they said, “We want you to be a surprise.” I thought that was great, and I hid all day.

    WWE.COM: In a tour bus?

BUBBA RAY: Well no, I have on camo so they can’t see me anyway.

    And

    WWE.COM: Where’s D-Von?

BUBBA RAY: He’s getting the tables.

Is that just ticket sales? Can't understand how it would be that low.

Any chance they missed the 1 in front of the 33,634?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,403 ✭✭✭spiritcrusher

Yeah, that seems crazy low. How are they working it out? If you take say an average of about €60 a ticket that would mean only 560 people turned up! Assuming that figure is based on ticket sales.

    From F4W.

WWE is reportedly no longer branding WrestleMania with numbers, at least with the logo. Instead, symbols are being used to distinguish each event.

It was announced last week that WrestleMania will come to AT&T Stadium in Texas on April 3rd, 2016 and "32" is nowhere to be seen on the logo. It instead features a star to represent the "Lone Star State." On top of that, the logo for this year's WrestleMania features a "Play" button. to represent Silicon Valley, which is near Levi's Stadium, in Santa Clara, California.

This is according to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, who said on Wrestling Observer Radio today that the events are no longer being branded with numbers "because Vince McMahon thinks it makes it sound too old.

Ah here... surely the more years it has just adds to it's prestige making each year seem more important.

This is a ridiculous decision. Has the old man finally gone mad.... or madder by his standards.

Meltzer checked this and the comma is in the wrong place. Should be around $330,000

Ah now, clearly nobody watches that ancient Superbowl with their 48 previous editions. Vince obviously knows better.

I, for one, am looking forward to WrestleMania Triangle/Play Button.

I still think the new WWE logo is shockingly bad. And now getting rid of the numbers?? What in the hell are they at.

And it looks set to continue as next year's has the Lone Star of Texas instead of 32 in the logo. See here.

    WrestleMania_32.jpg

I mean, there's no reason you couldn't fit the numbers inside the triangle/star. I'm betting on a # for 33.

They should just call it Wrestlemania 9.99 and be done with it.

Vince is turning into a right Phallus

Was listening to 2fm earlier and there was a piece on the entertainment news saying Hogan is training for an in-ring return. Has Lottie Ryan somehow managed to get one over Meltzer?
