Hi, I am on plan B with VHI. I had an ultrasound last week privately costing €195. You can claim back on VHI once you have gone over the €250 excess. On checking this with VHI, they said that if I was on First Plan Plus there is no excess and that I could claim back €100 for the scan immediately and also get a set fee back…

Hi,

I am on plan B with VHI. I had an ultrasound last week privately costing €195. You can claim back on VHI once you have gone over the €250 excess. On checking this with VHI, they said that if I was on First Plan Plus there is no excess and that I could claim back €100 for the scan immediately and also get a set fee back from my GP & Dentil visits. Highly recommended to me so I changed over, got the details in the post and had a 14day cooling off period. I changed back to Plan B today.....

Can anyone recommend which plan is best and am I right to stick with plan B?? Saving a €100 quid or so now may cost me thousands later??

I'm with Plan B and upon reading the small print there is very little extra with regards to cover on the B Options and Plan A. Basically you will get private rooms in some hospitals and not others.
