Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

WIll be buying a 50" plasma for new apartment, which has a very very large sitting room(hard to fill with sound).

Need a new 5.1 system to go with it, but not very knowledgable about this kind of thing.

Will I need an amp? A receiver? Is it possible to buy two floorstanders seperately, then a bar and two bookshelf for the rear?

Planning on getting it all from richersounds, does anyone have suggestions?

Budget would hopefully be under €700

Is the budget of 700euro for everything or just the amp/speakers etc.?

    Amp+speakers.

Have the tv pretty much chosen(LG 50" PQ3000) which ends up being under €700, so willing to spend just about that much again on sound. Would prefer spend less mind, as I'm no audiophile and used to just using TV speakers. But if necessary!

    :)

Just post in their forum if not already done so, and ask for recommendations, they will sort you out.

    Some possible examples.

Believe me if you are just used to TV Speakers you will be in for a nice surprise ! ;)

If you have a large room, you should by a system that suits that i.e. sensitive speakers and/or a beefy amp and at least 1 decent sub woofer.

RS are excellent but you should not limit yourself to what they stock; plently of other shops deliver to ireland (eg superfi.co.uk).

If I had the space, I'd go for 4 floorstanders plus centre and sub.

You could also check out www.adverts.ie, sometimes you get good 2nd hand quality stuff which given the initial quality is still in really good shape.

I have just received this system from Panasonic. It includes an integrated Blu Ray player. The sound is stunning.
