MS update problem

i did an ms update yesterday on my desktop, it got as far part 3 of 3 then all it does is shuts down and restarts , when it restarts it goes back to the 3 of 3 update and keeps restarting, its running vista, it was running fine untill the update, what can i do to fix this pleaseall suggestions appreciated.

if you have no disc use F8 @ start-up
then hit repair computer then restore
