Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A helmet cam can be your own insurance safety net.

Growing numbers of cyclists are arming themselves with a new weapon on the roads - helmet cameras.

London cyclist Ben Porter is one of those to be filming drivers who cut them up or shout abuse.

He explains to BBC Breakfast's Richard Westcott why he took to recording his daily commute, and describes one incident after which the driver was successfully prosecuted for driving without due care and attention.

I think it was queried were they admissible as evidence here.

Just got the Muvi copy off ebay yesterday. Worked great in the car, will try on the bike at the weekend. Quality very good for the size. Got a 4Gb micro sd card in O2. Total cost €30.

I've been looking at these on eBay, the only issue I can find is that they wouldn't be waterproof and mounting them to the handlebars would be difficult.

Has anyone had any luck with something like this?

I had one like that, and it wasn't great. Run time was very short, about 20-30 minutes, but even more annoyingly, it didn't save the clip in progress when the battery ran out. I had to stop/start the filming at each junction to make sure it was saved.

Why would they not be admissible?

What do you make of the clip?

I watched it many times and what I took from it was,
Overly aggressive cyclist meets overly aggressive van driver..

The assault was unjustifiable, but the events leading up to it were also entirely avoidable.

not just my opinion either, some people here feel the same

    No idea tbh.

The bit that stood out for me was, why in the name of jebus did the cyclist not slow down at the junction, that was muppetry at it's best. I think he and the that Scottish doctor are out looking to record this stuff.
