Advice/recomendations please.

I'm looking to build a high end system for multiple tasks including software development/gaming and media streaming.

Because I use a lot of IDE's and servers(many at the same time) I am a ram whore.

What I have in mind is:
cpu: i7 920.
ram: ~12gb (maybe overkill but I don't care.. I want and don't mind paying for it)
hard disks: 4tb(4X1tb)
graphics: dual graphics cards with an SLI bridge, looking for a decent enough graphics setup.
Monitors: Dual or triple monitor setup ideally each monitor 24"+.

I had a look on Komplett and the system I was looking at was coming in around €1800 all in. now I don't mind this but obviously if I could get a similar system for less or a better system for the same money It would be preferable.

Anyone any recommendations?

Whats your budget and why do you need SLI ?

Well, my first thought is the 1366 i7, do you really need it? From what I can see the i5 750 LGA1156 is just as good for Gaming.

However, like you said you love t3h ramz, so I guess Triple Channel is where it's at.

For that then, I would recommend:

CPU:
i7 920 £207.69

Cooler:
XIGMATEK Thors Hammer £44.99

Cooler Fans:
2x Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1900RPM Slip Stream 120mm Fan€9.83
each.

Mobo:

Ram:

GPU:

HDD:
4x Seagate 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm £60.56 each

That's £1372 + €20 (for the fans). Add whatever monitors you want (preferably 3, at least 1 with a Displayport connector for Eyefinity) and you'll have a monster setup

@Deano12345: I'm willing to go up to about €2000.I don't need sli but I like the idea of being able to combine the power of 2 or 3 graphics cards.

@Leman_Russ: a lot of the stuff I'd be using it for would be heavy on ram and the CPU, so Id prefer the best cpu I can get(without having to sell a kidney that is ). lol at the "you love t3h ramz"

Let me see what I can do,I have a build for 1300± that Ive done for a few people here.I can modify if to suit your needs

Edit : I seen dual socket i7's a while ago but I cant find them now.

not sure about some of the stuff their but watched the video review for that case... I like.

the Hard drive bays are a good feature, like the quick and easy access.Only bad point is there is no window, nothing an angle grinder cant fix though...
