What is the best broadband? Just moved to Harolds Cross and trying to get broadband in the apartment. I was on Chorus/NTL in my other apartment whch was great but I cant get it in my new place. I'm reluctant to pay eircom the rip off line rental but it seems like there are no other alternatives. Can anyone reccomend a good…

You seem to have ruled out all the broadband providers, as their either unavailable, or you're unwilling to pay line rental.

Your options are FWA, Cable or DSL. If FWA and Cable are not available, then DSL is the only choice. Choose the one with the best price for the speed you want. Magnet & Smart would be first choices. eircom and the re-sellers are all much the same.
