Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Questions on Laptop OS problems & what's available as regards a remote TV receiver?

    Hi All,

I have 2 quick (hopefully) questions that maybe some PC or tech expert can help answer or at least point me in the right direction.

Firstly, I was working on my Dell Latitude Laptop last night but it began having problems such as running extremely slow, not being able to print etc. So I attempted to reboot it but all I got was a black screen i.e. it wouldn't reboot not even in safe mode. There were no obvious problems prior to that. The laptop had been running with a large number of browsers open for a couple of days. I have AVG scheduled to run daily and I also have zone alarm installed. How can I get my laptop back working properly? On reboot, the Windows logo appears although it does warn of prior problems shutting down successfully and potential missing files. Should I attempt to boot from a Windows XP CD? Should I bring it to a PC repairs specialist, if so, what's the expected cost and how long would it take to fix? ANy helpful thoughts?

Secondly, I live in rented accommodation and we have cable downstairs but I'm wondering what technology is available so that I can transmit the cable signal downstairs whereby I can receive it on my TV in my room? Is there such a thing? Where can it be got - ebay? Is that the best option as I currently only have about 4 bog-standard channels!

Any help or advice appreciated, thanks!
