Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have an older dell computer that has become a bit unstable. It's slow and I thought I'd give it a new lease of life by reinstalling. Do I need to worry about my broadband connection? I don't have a netopia cd or eircom cd. Do I need them before doing the reinstall ? thanks in advance

How is it connected to the computer, USB or Ethernet (like a phone cable only bigger) ? If ethernet no need to worry , I will advise though that before you reinstall go to the dell site and get the network card drivers for it!!!!!!!!

The amount of times I've been caught out by that just isnt funny

It's an ethernet cable. THanks, I'm now doing a last minute virus scan with stinger and a backup of my files and I'll let you know how I get on.

An ethernet cable means that all the connection settings are stored in the modem. When you're ready, you'll just need to connect the ethernet cable to the PC again. As said, make sure you have the network card driver ready before beginning. If you have that, at least you can download everything else.
