Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

As DCU's new Chair of the photographic society (:D), I am on the look out for a new camera. We have e600 at our disposal and so far the d3000 looks the front runner.

Can anyone tell me if there is a website which contains all of irelands camera shops to compare prices? if not does anyone know if Gunns have a website - cant find the auld yolk they put up a while back, or even a phone number would be great!

    Thanks.

No, there's no price compare website (that I know of).

    No, Gunn's don't have a website. Tel: (01)4781226

    I hope that helps.

If you want to believe Mr Ken Rockwell, the D3000 is not great camera. Personally, I would skip the D3000, and buy a D5000 or D90, they both use Nikons superb 12 MP CMOS Sensor. The Sensor in the D3000 is ancient, first used in the D200 back in 2005.

That, in itself, is a big "if".

Of course, you could always go for a Canon 40D or 500D which should be around your budget.
