Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We seem to have forgotten about these threads, so for the first time this season, here are this weekends fixtures

    Sat 17 Oct
    Deportivo v Sevilla
    Real Madrid v Valladolid
    Valencia v Barcelona

    Sun 18 Oct
    Espanyol v Tenerife
    Málaga v Almería
    Mallorca v Getafe
    Xerez v Villarreal
    Zaragoza v Racing Santander
    Athletic Bilbao v Sporting Gijón
    Osasuna v Atlético Madrid

The obvious big game of the weekend here is Barcas visit to the Mestalla to play Valencia. Its Barcas first real test in the league this season, and should they come through it unscathed, it will look very difficult, at this early stage, to see past the champions to reatin their title.

Barca have a full squad minus Bojan for this, though Xavi is rated as "possible", and Valencia for their part will likely be missing David Villa, which can only be good news for Barca.

Real should spank Valladollid with our without CR9. Sevilla face a tough trip to The Riazor, and will really need to keep up their great form to get the 3 points there. Other than that about the only standout fixtire is Osasuna Vs Atleti, which could be as awful as it could great.

Awful game last night. Valencia really should have won it. had Villa been playing they would have.

Real won 4-2 and Sevilla lost 1-0 to Depor.

Some incredible must see goals from the Bernabéu last night.

Raúl was at his predatory best as he made his all time record 711th appearance with two goals.

Higuaín and Marcelo both scored brilliant goals, and there was nothing Casillas could do to prevent either of Valladolid's.

Osasuna 3-0 up at HT atletico continuing with the defensive strenght of a wet tea bag.

Shambolic would almost be accurate, but a stronger word is needed for how poor their defense is. This will certainly be curtains for Resino id say.

La Liga Results Weekend 17/18 October

    Valencia 0-0 Barcelona
    Real Madrid 4-2 Valladolid
    Deportivo 1-0 Sevilla
    Bilbao 1-2 Gijon
    Mallorca 3-1 Getafe
    Espanyol 2-1 Tenerife
    Xerez 2-1 Villarreal
    Zaragoza 2-2 Santander
    Malaga 2-1 Almeria

Villarreals awful start continues. Valverde would really want to turn it around and quick or he will be out on his ass before he even gets comfortable in his office chair.

Yup, one of those matches where every goal was really high quality... Higuain's goal or Valladolid's second would probably rate highest for me.

Didn't see the Atleti match last night but that team needs a serious kick up the hole - they really don't seem to understand that you have to work hard to try and defend if you want to win matches. I don't know what's wrong there but they'd want to sort it quickly.
