Where can I get proper beef extract?

I made the most amazing gravy yesterday from the scrapings of the roasting pan and wanted to know if it's possible to source that black gloopy jelly-like substance in bulk anywhere.

I believe it's called beef extract. Not looking for the powder but the original form, preferably organic. Just want to have a tub of it to make great gravy without having to roast beef or resort to the dreaded Bisto.

I know! Beef extract has been replaced with yeast extract in pretty much everything. Maybe I could source some antique bovril?

Hmm ... it would seem that there is now some beef extract in Bovril if wikipedia is to be believed.

bovril definitely has beef back in it ,your link is from 2004 they now specify on the label beef bovril
