Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sometimes I cant help it. Our customers (We sell flooring) will talk idly about getting raped by geek squad or having PC issues. But I never know what to offer them.

Anybody do side work like that? what do you charge? I was thinking at least $50 for the first hour and $25 for each additional hour but Im wondering how that rates up to the norm. too high? too low?

    Depends on your customer really.

If its just a householder and your doing the job at their place, well it probably cost you to get there, your under pressure to get it done with them looking over your shoulder, etc.

Minimum I'd charge is €50 unless they REALLY are broke.
If its a business 70+ to be honest.

If it runs in to a second hour and a more heavy problem that involves installing/fixing software and is really time consuming, householder-wise I'd push it to €80+, for a business €120+.

If they allow you to take the pc with you or/ drop it to your door, I take it easier more so on the householder than the business person who hopefully should be able to better afford the bill of repair.

On average most PC repair businesses charge 70+ per hour. I know some that actually charge 120+ per hour - every hour!
Mad!!! Shooting themselves in the foot in the long run.
