Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If they're going to be using '09 spec Focus cars, I wonder does that impact Solberg's negotiations with Ford? Or has Petter already settled on a C4 for next year??
I very much doubt Block will trouble any of the top boys, but if his presence attracts publicity then that's super.

I hope this form of ego-fuelled narcissism doesn't last too long nor distract from the real WRC.

I see Atkinson's getting a drive on the back of this which has to be a good thing.

will be a bit strange to see Block in a Focus considering he's done most of his rallying in a Subaru, would be great to see Atko getting a drive again though, hes a driver who deserves to be in the championship

Jeasus lads give the man a chance.
He is one talented pilot, he has been rallying in the states for a few years now, granted they have mostly gravel stages over there. Are we all forgeting this fella bet colin MCcRea a the X Games a few years ago !!! I know Colin crashed out but Block was on his hole right from the count down. He is a showman, but once the team monster management have got through to him that smooth is quick, it will all come together. I'd say that by the end of 2011, Atkinson will have racked up as many DNF's !!

What has Block's Rally America track record been like? Anything that brings more coverage and $$$ to rallying has be a good thing, I'm surprised that Pastrana has had another run with this as well.

In fairness, Block bet McRae over a tight superspecial...not the real thing at all! I'd imaging Atko will be on the pace after 2 or so rallies clocking up points with Kenny from the Block battling with the likes of Henning or Wilson..

I'd put money on it that Block wouldn't have been in the same timezone as McRae on a real stage like in Finland for example. X Games is on a piddly super special style stage.
But I also sincerely hope he can get up to speed as it can only help the WRC if he does.

I really don't think McRae was trying all that hard at the X-Games. If you look at some of the videos he has way too much oversteer going on for fast times, he was really just there showboating.
Block does have a bit of talent but I think he will find it very difficult to be in the top eight of a WRC enent.

I have been rallying for a while now, and to make up time on tight super special, or short run events is harder then on long sections. Granted there is more oppertunities to fu*k it up and lose concentration on long stages, but when you go to events like, Kilkelly (mayo Autocross) and see 100's & 1000's of seconds between MKII escorts, astras, civics and rwd starlets fighting for the top 10 places, short sprints are hard won.
I am hoping that this doesn't appear in about 5 months time, where team monster are bankrupt as a result of panell beating costs......:p.
