Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey there

Following their recent Boards.ie preview evening, Microsoft would now like to invite people to come to the official launch in Dublin next Wednesday, October 21.
To celebrate the launch of Windows 7, Microsoft invites you to a fancy dress themed launch party in the Button Factory in Temple Bar, Dublin from 7 – 9.30pm on Wednesday 21st October.

80’s tribute band Spring Break will be performing on the night and we will also be crowning the winner of our competition to find Ireland’s biggest inner geek. 2FM DJ Rick O’Shea will be on hand on the night to MC the event.

A spot prize will be offered on the night for the best dressed guest, so we would like to see you at the event in your 80’s finest, Halloween outfit or geek chic.

I've got 30 places for Boards.ie members, so drop your comment below (no need for your real name or to PM me) and we'll see what we can do :)

    Cheers

    Darragh

How do we know if we are down on the list? Do you not need our real names?

    Darragh,

If you can smuggle in two of us here, that'd be great. My greatest fantasy to see the geeks get drunk and dressed up in 1980s mode. Two guests invite please :D Thanks!

    Cheers,
    M

Many thanks to Darragh and Microsoft for a great night.

No free gifts, but a free bar and great music. Very enjoyable.

Now ... I just want a copy of Windows 7.

That is debatable, many of us got a balloon. :)
And one or two tried to make off with the giant number 7's ( I don't think they got very far.)

I'm not the most social person in the world however I enjoyed it.

    Thanks to everyone involved.
