Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

VM Ware problem

    Hi all,

I have VM Ware installed on Vista Home Premium PC. I created a XP Pro SP3 VM which ran fine for the first week or so. Recently, the mouse has become jittery and does not respond as it should.

Just wondering if anyone has come across this before. I've assigned 2GB RAM and plenty of HDD space. It's just purely for messing around, so if I have to install a new VM, it's not the end of the world.

While on the subject, are there better VM programs out there that I could use. I never seemed to have much success with Virtual PC from microsoft.

    TIA

    well hello

so vmware ace edition is the best but very advanced

just remember when setting vmware to use 2gb of ram
take in to account your computer needs ram to run the vmware app

try reducing the amount of ram ur vm is using start at 512mb and add if needed
also make sure you have installed VMWare tools on your virtual machine
also it could also be a graphics issue try using a lower resolution on the
    virtual machine.

The Vista PC has 4GB physical...so I was guessing 2GB would be good enough for the physical machine.

The jittery/jerky mouse kicks in about 10mins after the VM is started. At first I thoght it was the wireless mouse I was using. So I swapped over to a wired mouse & the same thing happened.

Didn't know about "installing VMWare tools on the virtual machine" is this like an add on program? All I have is an install for VM Ware.

    thx
