I'm renovating a commercial property and they need music piped to 5 of the rooms. Each room will need independent volume control.
ANy ideas or links to web sites that might give ideas.

    Hi there.

does the volume need to be controlled locally (in the same room as the speakers) ?

do you require more than one source, will the same music be played in each location or mabye a radio station in one locaion and a cd on in the other?

how big are the rooms you said commercial are they large rooms

is it just for bacground music or does it need a good bang to the earhole?

    Background music, low volume.

I think in that case, all you need to do is run the twin-core back to a main distribution point. Somebody else will then have to install the multi-channel volume control unit and amp.
There doesn't seem to be any other requirement there for you, is there?

Just make sure that you use a good grade of speaker cable, sufficient to take the current with a low loss for the run.

^ seems to recommend 10 AWG for most installs.
