Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

huh,ive represented ireland playing football.killed myself everytime i was on the pitch.and yeah feel the pressure alright, but i block it all out and treat every game like a final.maybe its my mentality?i have other pressures outside sport too family, work etc,but every game i play that goes out the window.one focus, and thats for the team, after all, theres no i in team.

Well if you can block out pressure like that then you’re in a very select group, well done.
    represented Ireland at what level?

nothing to do with being in a select group.i think its mentality more than anything.level is not obviously at the top level, like the premiership guys.obviously they have help in how to deal with that, sports psychologists etc.they have the best of everything.it should be no excuse.in fact their confidence levels should be going threw the roof.i know mine would be.

i dont need to explain that. ive had pressure on me to perform well .i would nt have had the help those players have.their confidence should be sky high.

no just dont need to explain that. most people who perform in a team sport/individual sport have pressures on them.i can see it in my team mates faces when we play a game.some obviously get it worse than others.im ok with it,can cope well.a lot has to do with mentality.

Actually I do believe that we would be better off now if Xabi was still here.

Xabi was able to organise the team plus set and change tempos during games. We are lacking in both those on pitch departments at present. Also he was a talker on the pitch, and from reports he was a bit of a leader and talker off of the pitch too.

I think if Xabi was here then there would have been a lot more cohesion on the pitch this season, maybe not enough to have us in first, but in my mind there is no doubt that we would have turned some of the losses into draws , and maybe a draw or two into a win.

Of course there would be some benefit to having him here but we would not be top of league. He cant play CB, CM & as a replacement CF.

What Liverpool need in a manager in short is Arsene Wenger.....

yeah what we need is a manager who spends alot on youth set up but doesnt win tropheys:rolleyes:

Look how patronizing i can be :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Benitez has won 2 trophies with Liverpool. Champions League was excellent to win, and one FA Cup....depressing really.
Liverpool are basically out of ideas at this stage.
Rafas squad is not good enough.
Rafas tactics never change no matter the opposition or personel availible.
Rafa has won nothing in 4 years.
Rafas spending has been average at best.
Wheter a new manager can do much better who knows, but watching liverpool is now embaressing.

....and that he's played and worked there before, coached their youth teams with success, knows the club inside out and worked with some of their more experienced players back in the day, such as Raul.

If he rejoined them he'd be hailed as the Prodigal Son.

but him and the current regime don't get on, he probably wouldn't work for them at this point.

Only one problem. Alonso. Dont think Alonso left pool on good terms with Rafa.

well, they were apparently not on the best of terms during the last year, and Alonso played the best football of his life. They're both pro's, wouldn't see it being a problem.

As Des said though, I don't see Rafa choosing to go to Real under the current regeme, but i fully expect him to manage there one day, and I fully expect them to keep chasing him till he does.

Why would you cry if he went to Chelsea? :)

Chelsea have been linked/after Aguero since 2005 when he was playing for Independiente.

I'd cry because its another player that wants to come to Liverpool but we cannot provide the funds. Its been happening at Liverpool for years.

Aguero has said that his favourite team are Liverpool and there has linkage between the two as well.

I'll admit the source isn;t the best but its fairly well known amongst Liverpool fans (delusional or not :))

There is absolutely no chance of Aguero going to Liverpool. Couldn't afford him for a start.
