Balls... we're a team with no confidence at the moment... huge game away in France now. Have to win. Lyon were pants... we were worse... i know we were missing 4 first team players but even still this was very very poor... totally gutted.

Avoiding the entire media for the next four days will be tough.

Jaysus - don't really know what to make of this - I didn't see the game btw - but sickened.

I don't want Rafa to go or anything but there's going to be massive massive pressure now.

    rocky pool

    poor form

    no torres

    lots of preasure

lyon excellent away record the last number of years

    4-1 is EXCELLENT VALUE

Ridiculous. There were numerous chances created both before and after the equaliser. The first goal was fairly fortunate, and the second was one of two shocking defensive lapses. Overall, this was a game Liverpool should have drawn at least on the basis of the way it flowed, and could definitely have won.

Statements like that make me grateful that fan mob mentality doesn't get to make day to day decisions at a football club.

    How quickly we forget:

    1. Manchester United 90
    2. Liverpool 86

    3.
    4.
    5.
    .
    .
    .

This has been one of the most depressing run of results that I can remember.

Can't wait to have Gerrard and Torres back, and hopefully Aquilani to come in and blow the league apart.

Just heard the commentator say that questions will be asked in the dressing room. Its too late for that. The boardroom is where the questions need to be asked... and quickly.

Please! Kenny Dalglish? No no no no. He crashed in later years and is somewhat redundant. As the above comment stated, the game has changed too much for him - there are too many slick sides in Europe with much quicker thought processes - Lyon proved that tonight.

Liverpool and Benitez should be ashamed of themselves tonight though.

Bringing on the porn star for Benayoun at such a crucial time was a large part of many mistakes tonight. I'm disgusted.

    Utter ****ing bollox.

Knew they'd score from a corner and then a joke of a counter attack.

Carra and Insua both have to be dropped for a few games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭mormank

i think the introduction of voronin was very disappointing. we needed the patience and urgency that babel couldve provided.

makes sunday an even more massive game imo!! still reckon if we can beat utd it will act as a springboard for the coming months..

You have a real shout with that one. United have possibly their 5 best players left at home, long trip, plastic pitch.

What odds the double as a matter of interest?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,407 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

    Lyon 9
    Fiorentina 6
    Liverpool 3
    Debrecen 0

I think winning each of the remaining games will see us through. Though obviously that will be a tall order.

Yes missing Gerrard and Torres is bad alright, but we seriously lack any strength in depth like UTD, Chelsea, Arse and Citeh have. That's down to Rafa. It's bee the worst run of results since 1987. Confidence is shot at this stage and believe only a change of management will improve this

    Oh yeah? Keny, eh?

    Hasn't managed in 20 years?

Jesus, can we not have a bad season (or a relegation threatened half of one) before the Rafa out chants begin.

Jesus, I gave him more stick last season than some of the fairweathers are at the moment.

    Very disappointed tonight.

Surely that substutution of Vorinin for Benayoun must be one of the worst since Holland replaced the in form Robben when two nil up against the Czech Repubic in Euro 2004?
