Hi All! I'm intending on making a new electrical product for the consumer market. Can I sell it as it is or do I need to get an electrician to ok it as safe? All advice appreciated.

You're going to have to CE mark the device. This means you will have to be able to supply the relevant documentation to prove that it passes safety specs.
