Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is a must win for the Gers but Bougherra being out makes it all the harder
Going for a 2-0 win for The Rangers

Its not a must win if Sevilla win the other game and this is a draw. But a win would be nice all the same.

Shhh! Sevilla are as good as through, especially if they stay ahead tonight.

Strange game actually, fairly open and end to end. Both teams playing some nice football in patches but it seems to break down in front of goal.

We actually are qualified if it stays as is, tbh even rangers win its in the bag. But gives the winner of your game a great chance to get tru.

Altho we still need to win and Stuttgart could i suppose get a shot in during the next 45

    Has it been all sevilla?

It hasnt been difficult so far.

If we made changes for pace and width we would destroy them, has the "big" team out.

    2-1 Unirea...Rangers defence is laughable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Eirebear

I'd happily substitute the Rnagers side for Des' Boardeux side at this point in time. Im damn sure theyd show some more passion at least.

    3-1

You still get the 12 million odd quid for being in the groups.

Celtic get 50 pence and a voucher for ryanair for this years european adventure.

Poor form? Were 4-1 down at home to possibly the weakest team in the tournament (exceot for us of course) christ i even feel sorry for the squaddies that got the free tickets Unirea didnt use!

Doesnt matter, scottish football is on its deathbed as it is.

Other results from SPL teams in europe, coupled with this could kill it off in terms of european co-efficient.

    Yup expected really.

    3-1 sevilla atm

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Just flicked over to the second half of this. From what I can see, the Scottish players simply can't compete with the more skillful and technical Romanian ones. The Romanians are perfectly happy and comfortable to knock it around the middle, while the Scottish lads just hoof the ball everytime.

Yeah, im not really surprised...just hurting.

One thing i never imagined over the last couple of years was to see such a bad Rangers defence. Thats two european games on the trot now that weve looked so poor at the back

They and Celtic look like decent LOI sides in Europe tbh.

We got raped by Steaua few weeks ago, i see the same with Old Firm tbh.

The gap between the SPL and LOI is closing. Rapidly.

The Old Firm need to get out, not only for our sake but for Scottish Football also.

Great story in fairness isnt it!

    All neutral refs
    No dodgy/soft peno's
No bias towards big clubs (or in Irish sence dublin clubs:rolleyes:)

One of the Smallest clubs win league

    are you watching FAI:p:rolleyes:

Rangers getting torn to shreds at the back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Eirebear

    Disgraceful.

Such an absolute lack of heart from a Rangers side is unnaceptable.
Were not the best side in the world, no one expects us to be, what we do expect however is a bit of fight, a bit of passion.

At 1-1 that game was only ever going to go one way, and it wasnt ours.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

    hard luck

we pretty much have it in the bag tbh.

has someone died on radio scotland, billy dodds sounds devastated

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,704 ✭✭✭Broxi_Bear_Eire

In fifty years of watching The Rangers that ranks up in the top five of worst performances I have seen.

Disgraceful does not cover it no passion, the inability to pass a ball, when we did we were so pedestrian I at 55 years of age with a bad back could move quicker.

Ah well roll on the weekend bring on the Hibs :)

The CL champions got beat at home to no name russians.

    i guess its subjective.

Shocking result for Rangers and Scottish Football. Saw goals and defending was laughable. It was certainly the night of shocks in CL. You won't see any scottish teams in CL after next season or two. They won't qualify as the co-efficient has taken such a hammering this season its not funny. All the so-called lesser leagues will overtake Scotland comfortably..

    Yep.

The SPL's Euro record this season (Individual games)

    W L D
    Rangers 0 2 1
    Celtic 1 4 1
    Motherwell 2 4 0
    Hearts 1 1 0
    Falkirk 1 1 0
    Aberdeen 0 2 0

    Total 5 14 2

Motherwell, Hearts, Falkirk and Aberdeen all out before the tournament proper.
Motherwell beaten by a welsh side, Aberdeen gubbed at home by sigma, Falkirk put out by FC Vaduz.
    Its embarrasing.

No CL Automatic entry for the next couple of years, i really dont see us getting it back in all honesty.

The National team 3rd seeds for the Euro Qualifiers...do you see them doing anything of note in the near future?

Scottish football is ****ed, we have lived above out station for a long time and in many ways have lived on the glory days of the 70's and 80's ever since.
The glory is gone, we can take our place beside the part time leagues of Ireland and Wales now.
