Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Scholes and Carrick in the middle is the team United put out against weak teams to go for the win. Amazed that Fergie is going for it today, incredibly attacking team for United.

I'm happy with that team. Fletcher not being there is a loss so Carrick's performance is going to be very important today.

I don't know how I feel about Scholes and Carrick starting together. Carrick not featuring much could mean it takes a while for him to get into the game. Scholes, as long as he is on song I don't mind, just no silly tackles!!!

Owen on the bench and not starting as SSN stated first.

Here's hoping Carrick isn't invisible today. Very happy with that side. Giggs to really test out Johnson's defensive ability today. :pac:

Well we don't have Fletcher so our hands are tied to a certain extent.

Good that Rooney is playing, I reckon he can be got at.

ha, souness saying pool are nothing when missing torres or gerrard, Jamie makes him look a tard by pointing out they finished 4 points from top with the 2 of them only starting a third of the league games together

Anderson could have come in for him - which is really what I would have expected. Would have only expected to see Carrick and Scholes start in a 451.

Could still play 4 5 1 with that Selection, Rooney Left, Giggs in the center.

As in goaded into doing something stupid and getting sent off?

Not so much that (he's a lot calmer these days) as his "knock", a few sharp early tackles could get him out of the picture and than allow er Michael Owen to come on...:(

Surprising line-up for Man United I think, Liverpool are sure to play at an extremely high tempo with the crowd behind them and I wonder how the likes of Berbatov, Giggs, Scholes, Carrick will handle it.

I hope Fergie's not taking an unnecessary risk with Rooney. I'd rather see him sit out this one rather than get injured and be out for a while.

WTF has carragher on a ship to do with anything?

He just said he hopes it will make him play better at the wknd?

Whatever way this match plays out, this thread is gonna make for very entertaining reading later.

Imagine if there is a similar finish to the Manchester derby? The soccer forrum would go into complete meltdown

It's at Anfield so no Fergie time... maybe Rafa time.

I hope the players' thinking has progressed from the days when that was an acceptable tactic tbh. I'd hate to see what could be a great game marrred by something silly. Likewise, I'd hope the United players don't try to hurt Torres.

Nobody said it was. We don't allow stream discussion in match threads as it breaks them up with the same question being posted every two minutes.

And that's why we have a dedicated streams thread that someone already so kindly linked to for you.
