Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    b_27018.png v b_12.png

Live on Sky Sports 2, Kick Off 5.30

Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Foster; Neville, Rafael, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Brown, J Evans, Fabio; Valencia, Scholes, Carrick, C Evans, Anderson, Nani; Owen, Berbatov, Macheda, Welbeck.

Didn't see a match thread so thought I would get it going especially with the early kickoff.

No squad list for CSKA sorry.

    For me

    Foster
    O'Shea-Ferdinand--Evans-Fabio
    Valencia-Scholes--Carrick---Nani
    ---Berbatov
    Welbeck

CSKA 2-1. 5/2 on Paddy Power for a CSKA win and 10/1 for 2-1.

    Is VDS out??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

I'm suprised to see Vagner Love is out on loan with Palmeries, must be personal? He is good enough for the Prem thought someone from the Prem would snap him up during the summer.

I reckon United will play 4-5-1 with berba up on his own. CSKA to win 1-0 0r a possible 1-1. Priority lies with Sunday and the 'Pool to lose 5 in a row!!!

can see utd going with 1 up front for this one but they'll draw//

pool will beat them on Sunday...

I left Owen out because of the doubt hanging over Rooney for Sunday and the fact I don't think Owen could play Saturday-Wednesday-Sunday without getting injured.
    Is VDS out??

No but really the same as Owen only back from injury and Sundays game is more important.

    draw I'd say

I can't even make any sort of guess at the team for tonight, haven't a clue. I would take a draw though, whatever team we put out.

A draw looks likely to be honest. Guess a largely weakened team with an eye on Sunday. 4-5-1 with Berba up front. Though Berba may be rested if Rooney is not going to make the weekend..

can't see it having an effect on VDS to be honest.

He was out with a broken finger, which is now healed.

If it was a back injury, or a muscle tear or strain he was out with, I could understand him being eased back into the side, but it was a fairly simple injury and I don't see a reason for him not to be firm first choice.

O'Shea in midfield... my CSKA bets are looking up :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,857 ✭✭✭✭Dave!

Playing for a draw it seems.

Berba on his own will be rather ineffective I would think.

Would someone be able to check what price JOS + 1-0 is for me, stuck in work with no access to gambling sites... should be a good price on it if he starts in midfield!

  • Registered Users Posts: 787 ✭✭✭bUILDERtHEbOB

Backed a draw for this, very defensive formation by United.

O'Shea in the role he was born to play.

    Libero.

Anyone think that United will play 4-4-1-1 with Fabio left wing, Nani Right wing and Valencia playing number 10? I think that would be a decent enough line-up, more than capable of winning the tie.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,608 ✭✭✭Spud83

Ando to play off Berbatov and will get two or more goals. You heard it here first.

Nani wasting the ball again while doing brilliantly at making space :(

    Nani off to a flyer.

Early days yet though. Come on Nani prove me wrong.

The ball seems to be springin' up when players are just trying to lay it off simply.

Yup. I wasn't it expecting it on this pitch seen as they were saying the ball runs true on it.

Think he wanted to go back to Brazil to be near his family. In fairness,Jo was a legend at CSKA and look what happened when he joined us

That's because he's a legend that can play any position.

United need to keep the ball on the deck. Looks like they might be starting to do that now.

Scholes testing Akinfeev there - didn't look too clever.
