Do I Need 3 Software On My Phone?

Hi, I'm porting to 3 shortly. I know how to do the APN thing and all that, but 3 don't charge you for data when you use Windows Live Messenger and Skype (possibly other things as well). Do I need their firmware for that? Or is it just a matter of using a specific access point? Thanks In Advance.

You will need their firmware. to get that it will have to be a phone that was on the network and the phones current firmware will have to be an earlier version than 3's as you cannot downgrade firmware to earlier versions.

you don't need their firmware but you do need to install a few SSL certificates and the actual applications (.SiS files).

i could install the SiS files before but skype wouldnt make a call presumably because i was missing the certificates
