UCD American Football Now Recruiting Players

Hey Guys,

We are recruiting players for our up and coming season.

We kick off our season with an Inter varsity Tournament down in Limerick on November 20th and 21st in the University of Limerick.

Colleges involved:

UCD
Trinity
DCU
UL

We practice every Friday from 4pm to 6pm on the Rugby all weather pitch. We are recruiting for flag also and we will be setting up events for Flag soon also both male and female.

When do you play your games (on which day), and what time do you train at?

Training Fridays 4pm - 6pm
Training Saturdays 10am - 1pm TBC

Season doesn't start until March but the games are played on Sundays.

We have an inter varsity tournament down in Limerick on Nov 20/21st Friday and Saturday.

What're your plans for flag football? Are you gonna have a proper team with weekly training and matches etc or just do a tournament day every so often or what?

Right now we are trying to prepare for the Inter Varsity tournament with the contact. But we plan to run a mini league for our own members in UCD with weekly practice sessions also and then enter tournaments around the country on top of the mini league.

The Irish Flag association did run a league two years ago but to be honest I dont know why it stopped. It seems like teams are more interested in setting up mini blitz tournaments every month on a Saturday or Sunday.

UCD American Flag Football Starts on Saturday 9th January at 10am to 1pm.

All Students and Staff and Alumni Welcome.
