    To me it seems excellent value. The buffer size is 8mb which is far above the norm of 2mb on most hard drives. If you are going to be transferring a lot of items however (e.g. movies etc) I'd suggest going for something with 16mb buffer. Only drawback I can see (which might not be for you) is the lack of a dual power source i.e. it is powered only by USB rather than allowing you to plug it in. I have one of these (that actually requires two USB ports) and I find it annoying at times. That said if your travelling a lot your unlikely to be able to plug your laptop in frequently, never mind a seperate hard drive. 5400 rpm is about the norm for most portable drives. Capacity is good too. All in all great price. If I needed one I would buy it.
