Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Subject has oodles of nacky detail to intrigue and amuse. The positioning of the camera is perfect to capture it and the exposure and other technical qualities of the shooting ooze sleek but casual profesionalism. A bit like Kyle himself:pac:.

Be warned: I use my pixie site to throw everything on with zero consideration of quality.

I know you have posted this one before but I love it.

    a. Because I currently don't have the cajones to take these kind of shots.
    b. I love the color saturation
    c. depth of focus is brilliant. Just enough blur on her hand to highlight her face and not so much that you don't know her gesture.

I'm a Dub at heart and this speaks a lot to my roots. The picture is evocative and the focusing gives a great feeling of depth. The lighting is good for the sculpture's mood too. I cant say much technically cos I'm a beginner really, but I was drawn to this photo and I liked it a lot.

feel to it with the old style brick building and then the steel and glass.

Liked this shot when it was in the exhibition. It's a really nice abstract. You are not sure what the scale is, it could be a Macro or a much larger scale. Lovely texture, pattern & lighting.

God no Mostar is a wonderful town... the bridge divers are amazing to watch... take a trip up to Sarajevo and if u have the chance go further north into Banja Luka and across to Srebnicia... but be prepared its a very grey place even when the sun is shining its grey....

I can just imagine. There's been a bit of a stop to that now, because they realised that it was a bit rediculous. There's still the odd moron about throwing his "authority" about though. I have a story of my own about that but not near as good as yours!

I'm jumping in again for a reason: Think I confused things with my post in the middle, and Squarebaloon got left out! I think square should have been complimenting one of Zarabas photos. So I'll take this opportunity to compliment one of his before moving on to Dudaras.

    Squarebaloon: Absolultely love this.

I've notice this on flickr over the last week or so. I think it's something to do with the latest update to tag photos. But I use google chrome so I just right click, inspect element and subtract the url from the source.

Doing this also allows you to subtract a url from images covered with the 'spaceball.gif' image.

    I think this one is great from KarmaGarda;

    80C8F15C25274298B41A38516CFA1075-500.jpg

It goes to prove that a great photograph is far more than just keeping everything in focus & tack sharp. This is the kind of occasion whether intended or just a happy accident that it actually works. The other aspects which you may normally avoid is the shadow however here, imho, the shadow is a compositional element - again, whether intended or not, it works. The muted tones are soft (just like the focus). Overall this works for me.

    Nice one.

Back to me - pix.ie is over here

I never replied to this square! Sorry about that. I spotted the shot while taking one of the boats into the cave. I waited for the place to empty before taking my shot and caught him having a smoke break.

This. Because I'm a sucker for square format and for rule-of-thirds composition. I also think the toning suits the image very well, and like the way the texture of the sea blends into the texture of the sky with the island standing out in sharp contrast.

There are so many things I like about this. It's B&W and the composition is very strong, it has the classic lonely feel of deserted places often seen in albums of Americana. The depth of field is perfect for the composition and the light and shadow lift the whole subject.

@Shrapnel222: you are going to have to help my befuddled mind here.. what do you mean by image tags? if you mean the digital exif data that is tagged to pictures by digital cameras then there is a simple explanation this is a scan of a darkroom print taken with a film camera.
